Hammock Hostel – General Policy

General Policies and House Rules for guests at Hammock Hostels.

These General Policies and House Rules govern the stay of guests at properties operated under the brand name “Hammock Hostels” by INDISOUL HOSPITALITY WORKS PRIVATE LIMITED, a company incorporated under the laws of India and having its registered office at B1/406, Narmada Paradise, Phase 2, Behind Reliance Energy, Bhayandar East, Thane – 401105, Maharashtra, India (the “Company”). By making a booking, checking in, or otherwise accessing the hostel premises or services, guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with these policies.

Hammock Hostel operates as a shared accommodation facility well suited for backpackers and travellers. In order to ensure the safety, security, and orderly operation of the premises, the following policies and house rules shall apply to all guests, visitors, and other individuals accessing or occupying the property.

1. Age Policy

Guests must be eighteen (18) years of age or above to independently check-in and stay at Hammock Hostel. Individuals below the age of eighteen (18) years are generally not permitted to stay at the property. However, minors may be allowed to stay only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, subject to applicable house rules, property policies, and local laws.

All guests are required to present valid government-issued photo identification at the time of check-in for verification purposes. Hammock Hostel reserves the right to refuse check-in where adequate identification is not provided or where age requirements are not satisfied.

2. Check-In and Check-Out

Standard check-in and check-out timings are as follows:

Check-in: 13:00
Check-out: 11:00

Early check-in or late check-out may be permitted subject to availability and at the discretion of the hostel management, and may attract additional charges as applicable.

Guests arriving prior to the designated check-in time may be permitted to use the common areas of the hostel, subject to availability and operational requirements, until their room or dormitory bed is ready for occupancy.

3. Identification Requirements

All guests are required to present valid government-issued photo identification at the time of check-in for verification and record purposes, in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Accepted forms of identification include: Passport, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Voter Identification Card.

Foreign nationals must present their original passport along with a valid visa at the time of check-in, and may be required to complete any additional documentation as mandated under applicable laws. PAN cards, student identity cards, or other non-governmental identification documents shall not be accepted as valid proof of identity for the purpose of check-in.

Hammock Hostel reserves the right to refuse check-in to any individual who fails to provide valid identification or comply with applicable registration requirements.

4. Admission Rights

Hammock Hostel reserves the right of admission to the premises. The hostel management may refuse check-in, deny entry, or terminate the stay of any guest if, in the reasonable opinion of the management, such person is found to be engaging in behaviour that is unlawful, unsafe, disruptive, abusive, or otherwise inconsistent with the policies of the hostel or the safety, security, and comfort of other guests and staff. Guests with a local ID within a 15 km radius of the hostel are not permitted to book or stay.

In such circumstances, the guest may be required to vacate the premises immediately, and the hostel reserves the right to take any further action deemed necessary in accordance with applicable laws and hostel policies.

5. Visitor Policy

Non-resident visitors are permitted only in designated common areas of the hostel and strictly during the visiting hours as communicated by the hostel management from time to time.

Visitors shall not be permitted inside guest rooms, dormitories, or other restricted areas of the premises. The hostel management reserves the right to regulate, restrict, or deny visitor access where necessary for operational, safety, or security reasons.

6. Guest Conduct

All guests are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible, respectful, and lawful manner towards other guests, visitors, and hostel staff at all times. Any form of misconduct, including but not limited to harassment, abuse, intimidation, theft, vandalism, trespassing, or any behaviour that is disruptive to the safety, comfort, or peaceful enjoyment of other occupants of the premises, shall constitute a violation of the hostel’s policies.

Hammock Hostel reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deny continued accommodation and terminate the stay of any guest found to be engaging in such conduct. In such circumstances, the guest may be required to vacate the premises immediately, and no refund shall be provided for any unused portion of the stay. The hostel management further reserves the right to take any appropriate action in accordance with applicable laws and hostel policies.

7. Drugs, Alcohol and Smoking

The possession, use, or consumption of any illegal drugs or prohibited substances on the hostel premises is strictly prohibited. The consumption of alcohol within the premises may be regulated, restricted, or prohibited in accordance with the specific policies applicable to the property and the designated areas identified by the hostel management from time to time.

Any violation of the foregoing provisions shall constitute a breach of hostel policy and may result in immediate termination of the guest’s stay and eviction from the premises without refund, in addition to any other action the management may deem appropriate under applicable law. Smoking is permitted only in designated smoking areas. Smoking inside rooms, dormitories, or non-designated areas is strictly prohibited.

8. Dormitory Allocation

In the case of group bookings, Hammock Hostel does not guarantee that all guests within the same booking will be accommodated in the same dormitory, room, or floor. Allocation of beds and rooms shall be subject to availability, operational requirements, and the internal room allocation system of the hostel at the time of check-in.

The hostel management reserves the right to allocate accommodation in such manner as it deems appropriate for operational efficiency and guest management.

9. Valuables and Personal Belongings

Guests shall be solely responsible for the safekeeping and security of their personal belongings at all times during their stay. Hammock Hostel shall not be liable for any loss, theft, damage, or misplacement of personal property belonging to guests, whether occurring within guest rooms, dormitories, lockers, common areas, or elsewhere within the premises.

Where lockers or other storage facilities are provided by the hostel, guests are encouraged to utilise such facilities for the protection of their belongings. The availability of such facilities shall not be construed as creating any responsibility or liability on the part of Hammock Hostel for the safekeeping of guest property.

10. Damage to Property

Guests shall be responsible for any loss, damage, or destruction caused to the hostel’s property, including but not limited to furniture, fixtures, equipment, fittings, or any other infrastructure within the premises, during the course of their stay.

In the event of such damage, Hammock Hostel reserves the right to assess the extent of the damage and recover the cost of repair, replacement, or restoration from the guest responsible for such damage.

11. CCTV Surveillance

For the safety and security of guests and staff, certain common areas of the hostel may be monitored through CCTV cameras.

12. Compliance with Policies

By making a reservation or staying at Hammock Hostel, the guest acknowledges and agrees to comply with all policies, rules, and operational guidelines of the hostel, including any instructions issued by the hostel management from time to time for the safety, security, and orderly functioning of the premises.

Failure to comply with such policies or instructions shall constitute a breach of these terms and may result in the cancellation of the guest’s stay and removal from the premises without refund, at the discretion of the hostel management.
